BEGINNER YOGA

Next course running Sept.10th - Nov. 5th, Mondays 7:30-8:30 PM ---$120

This beginner yoga course will span 8 weeks. It is our goal with this program to help you learn the foundations of yoga asana (postures) and pranayama (breath work) so that you can feel confident integrating this practice into your daily life. We want everyone to feel the benefits of yoga both physically, and mentally. As we explore each posture, we will find safe alignment, and modify poses so that they feel great in your body. Each practice will end in savasana or another restorative pose to let the benefits sink in. You will leave each class feeling strong, open, and light.

 We invite you to join us in our passion for body movement, and strengthen the bond between your mind, body, and soul.

These will be ending temporarily in September 2018 as our instructor will be having her second baby boy! When she returns, she will be sharing her practice with him, and with you and yours!

IS THIS CLASS RIGHT FOR YOU?

This class is open to all levels. However it is recommend that women are at least 6 weeks postpartum for vaginal birth and 12 weeks postpartum for cesarean birth or given the go ahead by their healthcare practitioner.

IS MY BABY TOO OLD TO ATTEND? 

Generally to encourage some cohesiveness we recommend babies newborn to crawling. If your baby is at the developmental stage where they are confident walking, I highly recommend checking out a Mom and Tots class which may be more entertaining for your little one!

 WHAT IF I NEED TO FEED, CHANGE, OR CALM MY BABY DOWN?

Mama's are always encouraged to tend to their babies as needed. This is a breastfeeding free space however, there is a change room or seated area provided for privacy if needed. There is plenty of space to change your baby as well as washroom facilities. If your baby cries, don't stress, it happens! All babies often get good and vocal at some point throughout the class. We call this a baby choir.

 

WHAT DO I BRING TO CLASS?

For Baby: Diaper bag, a blanket and a few small toys. 

For You: Your personal yoga mat (free rentals available), comfy clothes and water bottle.

 

WHERE CAN I PARK?

We advise you give yourself a little extra time to get to class.

All City-owned and operated parking lots and garages are open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Parking at certain lots and garages are free outside of normal business hours, Monday to Friday. Business hours differ for some locations, so please review the posted hours of operation listed for the location you are interested in.

All City meters have a three-hour maximum daily parking limit from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. at a rate of $1.50 per hour. Metered parking is free outside those hours, except between the hours of 2 a.m. to 6 a.m., where parking is prohibited. Tokens, quarters, loonies and toonies are accepted at City meters and dispenser lots. HST is included in all quoted parking lot and garage fees.
